Wiesbaden Learns First Aid with Yalwa

Have you ever witnessed an accident and had to do first aid?

It is a social duty to always be prepared and to know what to do when someone is in need of first aid treatment. A lot of people fall into panic mode and do not know how to react when faced with a sudden need to help. Almost everyone at some time in their lives may have gone through a first aid course already, but the lessons are just as easily forgotten when faced with a badly wounded stranger.
How does one resuscitate an unconscious person who has stopped breathing? How do you put the patient into the recovery position?

In order to "revive" these first aid pointers, the Wiesbadener Kurier called out for partners for the project Wiesbaden Lernt Erste Hilfe (Wiesbaden learns first aid) this year, and Yalwa has responded to be a part of this campaign.

Yalwa's Easter Eggs and Treasured Moments

The easter bunny definitely had a lot of wonderful surprises for the Yalwa team as we transition into the 2nd quarter of 2013.

  1. First of all, the fasting time is over. Perfect timing for our birthday celebrants Francesca, Rose and Philipp. Now we are enjoying the cake as well as the chocolate easter eggs we hoarded last week for a job well done. Happy birthday!

  2. We also have 2 additional team members for our Product Communications Team. Welcome aboard, Britta and Mathilde!

  3. The weather might still be reminiscent of Christmas but at least the sun is out - thus our first grill party for the year tomorrow during the Yalwa Games Night.

  4. April marks the start of our Yalwa Company of the month project. It's an extended service for our loyal Yalwa users which we are more than happy to give.

  5. The coming out of an artist: Our very own Mimi Dammers is launching her art exhibit on Saturday, April 6 at 5:00PM at EmPanaDiso in Frankfurt.

Yalwa to the Test: Fasting During Lent

cake.jpg Zest for life. It's what the Yalwa team always exhibits. From internal team games nights to external corporate events, business talks to casual chats, working as usual and celebrating special occasions. Speaking of special occasions, we would like to greet our teammate Lennard a very happy birthday. It so happens that his special day falls on Ash Wednesday this year, which marks the start of the 40-day Lenten season fasting.

Strike! Bowling with Yalwa

Strike!
SAM_1132r.jpg ...and Spares.

The Yalwa Team started 2013 right by working hard and also playing hard. On Monday night, we took over City Bowling Wiesbaden and got bowled over by our young intern, Ailin from Mexico. Ailin belongs to our IT Department and is currently doing very well in ensuring that our company brings forth improvements to our platforms that keep our users happy. She hasn't bowled for many years, but she had no problem making strikes and spares. No wonder, she is very much into sports and played basketball back home (Now that's another team event we should do).

Yalwa celebrates the summer

IMG_4752.JPG On Saturday, the 30th of June, the Yalwa Team had this year's summer celebration. Although it had been raining in the days before the party, we were lucky to have a very sunny day for our party. It was a party for our employees and their partners, friends, and family members. With delicious food, drinks and music, everyone was able to get to know each other better in a fun atmosphere. Afterwards, the children came together for a scavenger hunt through Erbenheim, the town where our Yalwa office is located. The scavenger hunt was worth the tough tasks under the hot sun because in the end nice prizes were given out to all participants. In the evening we all enjoyed a delicious barbecue and refreshing cocktails while the children entertained themselves by playing table soccer.

We are pleased to have had such a nice party with sunny weather, and we are already looking forward to the summer party next year. Below you can view some of the best photos of this year's summer party.

Season's Greetings from the Yalwa Team

The Yalwa team with people from 16 nations around the globe is as colorful as a Christmas tree. Considering all the different nationalities and languages in the team, it was only right that we created a video, wishing you all happy holidays in different languages. Enjoy!
